System and Networks Engineer – STÄNGD (Stängd)

The System and Network Engineer plays a key role in designing, implementing, and maintaining the IT infrastructure that supports the organization. This role ensures the optimal performance, security, and reliability of the system and network environment. A strong background in network technologies, system administration, and problem-solving is essential for success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Network Infrastructure:
    • Design, implement, and maintain critical network components such as routers, switches, and firewalls.
    • Configure network protocols and settings, including TCP/IP, VLANs, and DHCP.
    • Monitor network performance and quickly troubleshoot issues.
    • Ensure network security and compliance with industry standards.
  • System Administration:
    • Install, configure, and maintain servers, workstations, and IT equipment.
    • Manage user accounts and permissions.
    • Perform regular backups and develop disaster recovery strategies.
    • Address system issues and ensure timely resolution.
  • Technical Support:
    • Provide troubleshooting and technical support to users, addressing system-related concerns.
    • Support the deployment and maintenance of software applications.
  • System Integration:
    • Integrate diverse systems and applications within the organization’s IT ecosystem.
    • Develop and maintain APIs and integration frameworks.
    • Ensure seamless data exchange and system interoperability.
  • Security:
    • Implement and maintain robust security measures to protect IT infrastructure and data.
    • Monitor for threats and vulnerabilities, and respond to security incidents swiftly.
    • Take corrective actions to address security risks.
  • Business Continuity:
    • Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans to minimize downtime.
    • Ensure data backup protocols and system redundancies are in place.
    • Strive to minimize service interruptions during system failures or upgrades.
  • Cost-Effectiveness:
    • Optimize IT resources to control costs and avoid unnecessary expenses.
    • Streamline systems and processes to boost productivity.
    • Prevent costly downtime and data loss.
  • Scalability & Growth:
    • Design IT infrastructure with business expansion in mind.
    • Ensure systems can handle increased workloads and user demand.
  • Performance Optimization:
    • Regularly monitor and fine-tune systems for peak performance.
    • Identify and resolve any bottlenecks in infrastructure.
  • Strategic Planning:
    • Align IT infrastructure decisions with the company’s long-term business goals.
    • Provide technical guidance for IT investment decisions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in system and network engineering.
    • Strong understanding of network technologies (TCP/IP, routing, switching).
    • Proficient with server and workstation operating systems (Windows, Linux).
    • Familiar with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).
    • Experience with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
    • Excellent problem-solving abilities and troubleshooting skills.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Relevant certifications in network engineering (e.g., CCNA, CCNP).
  • Experience with cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, PowerShell).
  • Knowledge of security tools and concepts (firewalls, IDS, encryption, access control).

Location: Stockholm
Duration: 6 months with a possible extension
