Workstream Lead – Acquire to Decommission
Background:
Our client, a leader in the Paper and Pulp industry, is embarking on a strategic transition to a new Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system (SAP). The aim is to optimize business processes, improve cross-departmental information flow, and enhance data management capabilities.
Early 2024, the Atlas program started the design of the first release, covering Finance, Tax, Sales, Supply Chain, and Procurement for direct materials, and has since initiated the build phase.
In November 2024, the Atlas program began the design activities of the second release, covering Maintenance and Procurement for indirect materials.
This request is for a Workstream Lead for “Acquire to Decommission.” This workstream encompasses processes and data for an asset’s entire lifecycle—from idea, project execution, onboarding, commissioning, and maintenance to eventual off-boarding—with a primary focus on maintenance. The work will be done in close collaboration with other workstreams within the Atlas program.
The role is responsible for the full delivery of the workstream, managing dependencies with other areas, and ensuring the best solution for the client from both a business and system perspective.
A key focus is to ensure harmonized processes across nine mills (six in Europe and three in North America) while working closely with stakeholders within the client’s operations.
Some travel will be required as part of the role.
Key Responsibilities:

- Coordinate with other relevant workstreams in Atlas and the client’s business.
- Work closely and coordinate with the counterpart from the SI partner (Deloitte).
- Report to the Global Process Owner for Acquire to Decommission and Atlas program management.
- Provide and ensure the client’s context and expertise to deliver the best possible solution, process, and system.
- This includes not only SAP but also relevant legacy systems and processes.
- Drive and ensure resolution/closure of identified solution gaps (process and system) with the implementation partner and business team.
- Ensure stakeholder collaboration (e.g., reference groups), manage meeting forums, and oversee expectation management.
- Ensure that relevant decisions are identified, prepared, and resolved.
- Coordinate with Change Management.
- The change effort will mainly involve the client’s internal warehouse operations.
- Secure communication and collaboration with external stakeholders.
- Lead, plan work, and coordinate resources within the workstream.
- Current existing sub-teams include the data harmonization team (currently focusing on warehouses and spare parts).
- Act as an ambassador for the new solution.
