Cloud Software Engineer for EV Smart Charging and Home Energy Management Systems

Who we are?
At the department Energy Management within Propulsion and Energy, we are delivering the complete charging experience and solutions to make life easier for electric vehicle owners. This includes minimizing energy consumption, CO2 impact and cost. The group Energy Cloud Services is responsible for the cloud related parts of the solutions, sharing energy and charging related data through our Energy API in the developer portal, as well as price optimized charging strategies which is executed via car or charger. This also enables grid stabilization and, with bi-directional capable vehicles and chargers, a full integration with a home energy management system.

What will you do?
You will be hired as a cloud software developer, but we offer a creative and self-organizing environment where we don’t really differentiate between different roles. Therefore, depending on the needs and your skills and interest, you will be involved in other parts of the development.
Your tasks will be focused on cost optimization of the charging, taking all aspects of the energy and power tariffs into account, but also on how to balance the load for the whole household and by that minimize the total energy cost for the owner.
We expect you to take initiative and responsibility for your activities, but also be transparent with the rest of the team, be inclusive in your attitude, and act as a team player.

Do you fit the profile?
You are a cloud software developer (primarily C#) with knowledge and experience of modern software development (incl. DevOps). You have experience from working in a fast-paced, creative, and agile environment.
In this role, experience and skills within energy systems and solutions are of greater value than those of vehicle systems. However, a general interest in vehicle technology is of course beneficial.
Besides that, you have a passion for sustainability and user experience, have a strong analytical capability, is structured and organized in daily work.
You are self-motivated, curious and has the courage to challenge the status-quo. You have good communication skills, both orally and in writing, and are an open-minded team player who appreciate to work with different cultures.

You have more than 4 years of work experience in the relevant field and at least a bachelor’s degree in engineering (or similar knowledge acquired in other ways).

Although it is not necessary for the job, it’s a good if you have a valid driving license (level B).
